| Spider overview. There are three main ways that spiders get to your home. They crawl across the ground. This is especially true of house spiders and jumping spiders. They fly in. Other types of spiders take a tip from special forces and parachute in. In a maneuver sometimes referred to as ballooning, newly hatched spider will extrude long single web strands and wait for the wind to pick them and carry them away. Wherever they land - they set up shop. This means that your roof, eaves, siding, and your windows, can be infested from the top down. The follow the yellow brick road. A great many homes have tree limbs and other vegetation which contacts their roof, gutters, eaves, etc. Spiders and many other types of pests will use this avenue to infest your home. Treatment overview. Today's treatment materials are much less toxic than your average household cleanser, in fact, they are typically less toxic than caffeine, have little to no odor and yet control spiders very well. The best materials not only kill spiders effectively, they are also, highly repellant. If you can stop them from getting in - you eliminate the need to spray the inside! Many customers choose to have these materials applied on a regular basis to keep the spiders out of their homes. A quarterly service program can keep away most spiders and help control ants, wasps, and other harmful pests. A quarterly service program is the most economical and effective program for spider control. Each quarterly service costs much less than a single service and provides year round relief from pests. Some of our customers choose to have just one treatment done when the problem gets out of hand. We are happy to meet our customer's needs with the level of service that fits them best. Treatment options. At a minimum, you should have the ground around the base of your home treated. A good three foot band at the base all the way around, the base of your foundation, and up under edge of your siding. Most people also have us spray the accessible exterior eaves, around doors and windows, and other areas the spider can hang webs. These steps can eliminate about 90% of all spiders on the exterior. On the inside, many people enjoy having their garages treated. Some customers opt to have the interior of their homes treated as well. We recommend against regular treatments of the interior as the exterior applications work very well to reduce the number of spiders that make it inside. Also, the same ultra low toxicity chemicals we use on the outside will last at lest twice as long on the interior. If you want the most thorough service possible, you might want to consider having you attic and sub areas treated once a year as well. A spider control program will also help control many other pests, including wasps, ants, and all sorts of crawling insect pests.
